Yutao Zhu

Tenure-track Assistant Professor

Yutao Zhu is currently a tenure-track assistant professor at the Gaoling School of Artificial Intelligence. His primary research interests include information retrieval and intelligent agents. He has published over 20 papers as the primary author in top-tier journals and conferences in artificial intelligence and information retrieval, such as ACL, NeurIPS, AAAI, SIGIR, and TOIS. Many of his papers have been selected for oral presentations, and his Google Scholar citations exceed 8,000. His representative works include the retrieval-augmented generation frameworks SPRING and RoleRAG; search agents Search-o1, WebThinker, and SearchClaw; and the automated research agent Arbor. He led the development of the retrieval-augmented generation toolkit FlashRAG, which has accumulated over 3.5K stars on GitHub. He has been selected for the Microsoft Research Asia StarTrack Scholars, and has received the Google outstanding PhD scholarship. He currently serves as an Area Chair for ACL, a Senior Program Committee member for SIGKDD and AAAI, and a reviewer for journals including Nature Communications, TOIS, and TMLR.
